Bib Week: Bibs and a Giveaway!

The first set of bibs are all made by Suzanne.  She used my pattern and then came up with some beautiful combinations of colour and fabrics!

She now owns her own Kamsnaps Pliers and she loves them too!

Super cute!  I love that bibs are a great way to use up those cute scraps of fabric.

Another set by Suzanne.  Above the fronts and below the backs of another two bibs.

The next two photos are from Kristy of Hopeful Threads.  She has been super productive!  And all for such a great reason.  These bibs are going along on a Love Without Boundaries Surgical Trip for a doctor performing surgeries on babies with Cleft Palette.  So wonderful.  Please check out her blog for a complete story.

Kristy, the bibs are lovely and will be well used and loved.  Thanks so much for sending me the photos.

And, one last photo of a bib done by my friend Jen S.  We've done some sewing together and it's always a hoot.  So glad you made one of my bibs!  It looks really good.

Now for the giveaway part of the post.
I'll be giving away 2 of my bibs as well as 2 patterns.

To win just leave a comment.  Something like this.  Hi, I'm Alisa and I'm from Chilliwack, BC and one of my sewing goals for 2012 is sewing something for myself.  Or anything really.  Just make it interesting okay? :-)

Feel free to pass the giveaway along!  I'll pick a winner by tomorrow evening.

Have a good weekend!

A question...the bibs for the kids requiring surgery, are they backed with terry and unbound? Looks interesting. Thanks for your blog!

    2. Hi there! The bibs I made were using a free template the surgery coordinator had linked me to. They are simple flannel, backed with terry, turned and top stitched.

  16. Hi, I'm Peggy and I currently live in Kokomo, Indiana. I grew up in a military family, went in the Air Force and then married a man in the Air Force so I'm from all over. My goal this year is to make bibs & blankets for all the young and/or expecting mothers we know (8 at last count) as well as coordinating pillow cases for our guys and as well as shopping bags to sell at the farmers market/on-line.

  17. Cute bibs; I especially like the apple bib with dark binding, and the red and white rose bib.

A friend of mine had her baby last autumn. That friend is a dancer of ballet and modern dance. I happen to have a vintage pillowcase that was printed with a ballerina on it. I'm going to sew a bag, using that pillowcase, for a late baby gift.

  20. Hi, my name is Valerie and I live in north GA, midway between Atlanta and Chattanooga, TN. My quilting goals for 2012? Finish the Family Name Crossword Puzzle quilt I'm making for my father, finish a BOM I'm participating in, and as always, use as much of my own stash as possible. I delight in finding just what I need in my stash and using up my ever growing collections of scraps! I'm not as creative as I wish I was, but I love the whole process of sewing and creating unique items for people.

  21. Those bibs sure are cute! I'm Laura from St Albert. Sewing goals for 2012 - to plan instead of just sewing on a whim! I'm hoping to try some quilting finally too (Suzanne started off my quilting stash with some pretty fqs for my birthday!).

  22. I am happy to see the bibs as a contribution to the cleft palette surguries, the teams who go and contribute time for this can always use those extras for the children. I am late this week visiting your blog but am here now! Bye the way, I am not in Chilliwack but the next town West, Abbotsford...

  24. Hi Alisa! I'm from Chilliwack and am still trying to decide what to do with that vintage piece of material I showed you from my grandmother in Holland. Maybe later this spring I'll take some time to make a sundress for one of my girls. Oh yes, I plan to make some curtains for K's room too!
